The Bison Cup bonspiel takes place at the historic Granite Curling Club, the home rink of the Keystone Rainbow Curling League.

Founded in 1880, the Granite Curling Club is the oldest rink in Manitoba. On the banks of the Assiniboine River in Winnipeg, the club is centrally located near the Manitoba Legislature Building and is in walking distance to all Downtown Winnipeg sites and neighbourhoods.

Bonspiel Details

The 2022 Bison Cup bonspiel has a maximum entry of 36 teams. A different format will be used this year, with each team being guaranteed 3 five-end seeding games and 1 eight-end playoff game

The three five-end mini games will be awarded points as follows:

  • 1/4 point for each end played

  • 10 points for a win

  • 5 points for a tie

  • 2 points for a loss

  • 2 points for scoring with hammer, 3 points for scoring 3 or more with hammer

  • 2 points for stealing, 3 points for a steal of 3 or more

  • 1/2 point for each point scored

Playoff divisions will be seeded based on points scored in the five-end mini games, during which each team will play at least one game

  • Trophies for winners of each divisions

  • Cash prizes for winners and runners up

  • Prizes for each team to come in costume

  • Opportunities to buy drinks for other teams through the event website

  •  Saturday night banquet

  • Silent auction and 50/50 draws

  • Sunday morning drag brunch

Early bird registration deadline is January 15, 2022

Early bird cost: $90 per player ($110 per player after January 15)

Payment is accepted via debit payment at regular league games or email transfer. Instructions are detailed on the registration page.
